SINGAPORE: An abusive stepfather who repeatedly hit an 11-year-old girl with an exercise bar for eating slowly, causing her to die four days later from head injuries, has been sentenced to 15 years 11 months’ jail.

Mohamad Fazli Selamat, now 29, was also sentenced to 12 strokes of the cane.
