BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): The Ministry of Education (MoE) of Brunei has announced in a statement that the age for children to start school has been changed to five years old, and the amendment will take effect in January 2024.
The ministry said the change has been made with consent from His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in conjunction with the 33rd Teacher’s Day.
