US backs Philippines’ defence upgrade

The United States has committed to further boost the Philippines’ military capabilities, the South-East Asian nation’s defence chief said,.

The Philippines will work with the United States to build a “credible deterrent posture,” Defence Secretary Gilberto Teodoro said yesterday.
