Australian envoy to Brunei stresses on addressing mental health stigma

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/Asia News Network): Australian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Tiffany McDonald stressed on the importance of policy makers looking at mental ill-health through both a health and economic lens.

“My hope is that through seminars such as this we will start to break down the stigma associated with mental ill-health that continues to persist,” she said during a virtual seminar, attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Erywan Mohd Yusof, which was part of the Australian High Commission’s Mental Health Matters Month which will conclude on World Mental Health Day on Oct 10.
