Thai protesters clash with police near Government House on Sunday (July 18) despite record Covid-19 cases

BANGKOK, July 19 (Reuters): Police used tear gas, water cannon and rubber bullets to disperse protesters trying to march on Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha's office on Sunday (July 18) to demand he resign over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic and its economic impact.

Thailand reported on Monday (July 19) 11,784 new Covid-19 cases, the fourth consecutive day of record infections, as the country struggles to tackle its worst outbreak to date.
