Brunei seizes over 4,000kg of dubious meat


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): The Halal Food Control Division at the Syariah Affairs Department recently seized 4,754.22 kilogrammes of frozen Allana meat from an abattoir in the Mulaut area, for not having a halal import permit.

The committee of inspectors and enforcement officers from the Halal Food Control Division were conducting an inspection at an adjacent slaughterhouse on Monday (April 19), when they received a public tip-off about meat smuggling activities at one of the abattoirs in Kampong Mulaut.
