Border checkpoint shutdown extended

A THAI-MYANMAR border checkpoint in western Thailand will remain closed until the middle of this month due to the pandemic situation in Myanmar, a senior Thai government official said.

Kanchanaburi provincial governor Chirakiat Phumisawat said on Wednesday that he had ordered an extension of the shutdown of Three Pagodas Pass, which links the Sangkhla Buri district of Kanchanaburi with the Payathonzu township in Karen state, Myanmar, until Nov 16.
