Myanmar holds 2025 film academy awards ceremony


Preparations underway for the 2025 Myanmar film academy awards ceremony at the MICC I in Naypyidaw.

YANGON: Myanmar held the 2025 Film Academy Awards presentation ceremony in its capital Naypyidaw on Saturday evening, according to the state-owned Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV) on Sunday (Feb 8).

During the ceremony, Acting President of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing said that Myanmar cinema serves as a language that connects Myanmar's cultural traditions and ways of life to the world.

It is also a medium to share the languages, cultural customs, and lifestyles of the people globally.

He urged filmmakers and artistes to use their works to promote national spirit, the growth of public knowledge, and the achievement of the state's goals.

He also encouraged artists to adapt to changing times while using their talent to serve the nation and the people.

A total of 18 awards were presented at the ceremony, the report said.

Aiming to encourage domestic film production, the Film Academy Awards presentations have been held since 1952. - Xinhua
