BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, July 23 (Xinhua): Brunei has appointed a committee to discuss border crossing issues under the current Covid-19 pandemic to help create a safe and guided policy, said Haji Mohd Amin Liew, the country's Minister at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and Second Minister of Finance and Economy.
According to local daily the Borneo Bulletin, the minister said during a press conference that the PMO has set up its own online platform where the public can apply to enter or exit the country.
He said that the Green Lane proposal is also being discussed under the committee.
"Neighbouring countries have proposed to conduct 'Green Lane' with Brunei and this is indeed a suggestion to be thoroughly considered," he said, adding that certain conditions and rules set by the countries need to be followed.
Brunei reported no new case of Covid-19 on Thursday with the national tally of cases standing at 141, marking the 79th consecutive day without new cases since May 7.
