Fisherman shot dead in Philippines

MANILA: A 63-year-old fisherman was shot dead by another resident in Bolinao, a town in Pangasinan province, northern Philippines, on Saturday night (June 27), police said Sunday.

A police report said the victim was drinking with two friends when the suspect arrived on a motorcycle and suddenly opened fire. The fisherman was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The suspect fled but was later arrested by police. Police were investigating the motive behind the killing. - Xinhua
