General election held with caution

TWENTY minutes prior to the opening of the polling station at the Dunearn Secondary School in northwestern part of Singapore, some 20 voters had already formed a queue, all of them wearing face masks and keeping one metre apart.This was one of the 1,100 polling stations island-wide to cater for 2.65 million eligible voters from 8am to 10pm yesterday.

The polls were initially scheduled to close at 8pm. However, several stations across the island saw long queues during the day.
