Myanmar appoints regional minister for planning, finance


YANGON (Xinhua): Myanmar's Yangon Region Parliament unanimously agreed to appoint U Ye Min Oo as a regional minister for planning and finance on Wednesday (June 3).

Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein recently proposed the appointment of the new regional minister for planning and finance to the regional parliament, to fill the vacant post of former regional minister U Myint Thaung who died of cancer on April 20 this year.

U Ye Min Oo, 45, was assigned to serve as a deputy mayor of Myanmar's capital Nay Pyi Taw last year.

With professional backgrounds in the fields of banking and finance, U Ye Min Oo, is working as the head of a task force of the Myanmar's Covid-19 Economic Recovery Committee. - Xinhua
