Missing boy finds search party

IPOH: Search and rescue personnel w?ere? searching high and low in the jungles of Lenggong for Mohamad Hazaril Amin M. Yaasin after he got separated from his friends during a camping trip.

Little did they know, the 17-year-old student managed to find his way out of the jungle and hitched a ride with a lorry driver to locate his would-be rescuers.

A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department said the boy had seen groups of firemen conducting searches in the jungle and stopped them at about 7.50am on Saturday.

"He then told the firemen that he was the one they were looking for.

"The boy said he got lost in the jungles while doing a night trekking excursion," he said, adding that the boy had went missing at about 2.40am on the same day.

"He had spent a night on top of a tree while waiting for the dawn to break," he said.

The spokesman said the camping trip was held near the Nur Lembah Lenggong Resort.

The Search and rescue operation, led by Ahmad Izuwan Zakaria, was conducted within a 1km radius in the jungle.
