Anxious over birth cert issue

KOTA KINABALU: There is anxiety among communities here that their position as natives of Sabah will be eroded when stateless children born here are granted birth certificates.

Their worry persists despite an assurance that the birth certificates do not automatically make them Malaysian citizens and that the document is just to ensure the children can be enrolled in school.
