KUALA LUMPUR: The overall air quality across the country is good despite 25 areas recorded moderate Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of noon compared to 24 areas Tuesday.
Areas with API readings of over 50 are Cheras (60), Batu Muda (55), Kemaman (51), Shah Alam (54), Petaling Jaya (51), Port Klang (62), Kuala Selangor (52), Banting (54), USM (61), Seberang Jaya 2 (64), Perai (59), Tanjung Malim (51), Seri Manjung (59), SK Jalan Pegoh, Ipoh (55), Kg. Air Putih, Taiping (65), and Jalan Tasek, Ipoh (60).
Also Seremban (51), Port Dickson (55), Bukit Rambai (55), Bandaraya Melaka (61), Tanah Merah (54), Bakar Arang, Sg. Petani (64), Alor Star (53), Pasir Gudang (59) and Muar (53).
An API reading of between zero and 50 indicates good air quality; between 51 and 100, moderate; between 101 and 200, unhealthy; between 201 and 300, very unhealthy and over 301, hazardous.
