KUALA LUMPUR: Quran reciters from Malaysia topped all categories at the 56th International Al-Quran Recital Assembly, setting a record of sorts for the annual event.
Ahmad Tirmizi Ali, from Terengganu emerged victorious in the qari (male reciter) category while Hanimzah Jalaludin, from Pahang, took the title in the qariah (female reciter) category in the assembly that ended on Saturday night.
