GEORGE TOWN: Many senior citizens and the sickly are among hundreds of residents who have been confined to their homes ever since fire destroyed the three lifts serving their 17-storey high-rise block of flats in Rifle Range here.

Most of them face difficulties obtaining daily essentials such as fresh produce, food and medical attention for the ailing ones.
