Malacca to enforce Jawi rule


MALACCA: It would be compulsory for all local government, state and Federal departments and agencies in Malacca to display their names in the Jawi script besides Roma­nised Malay wordings. This will take effect by the end of the year.

“The objective is to value the Jawi scripts that were used by our forefathers,” state Housing, Local Government and Environment committee chairman Datuk Ismail Othman.
