FT MCA lodges report over racist remarks

Kuala Lumpur: A police report has been lodged by the Federal Territory MCA Youth against those who allegedly made racist remarks online about the brawl at Low Yat Plaza.

Its chairman Tan Kok Eng said one Roslan Ambri had commented on Facebook that Malays would fall victim to Chinese traders, who always tried to cheat customers.

Tan also said a video clip had gone viral on Facebook showing a man allegedly making a racist speech in front of a group of youths near Low Yat Plaza.

“Such statements online are igniting hatred and tension among various races. The police should take appropriate action to maintain harmony in the country,” he said in his police report filed at the Dang Wangi police station here.
