Smartphone brand Tecno has launched the Pova 8 5G in Malaysia, with the device equipped with a 6.76in IPS display with up to a 144Hz refresh rate.
For the camera, the Tecno Pova 8 5G has a single 50-megapixel main shooter on the back, with a 13-megapixel hole-punch selfie camera positioned on the top of the screen.
The back of the device also features a customisable dot matrix display, which Tecno calls the Alive Matrix. It can display information such as the time, notifications, call status, and the device's current activity, with Tecno saying the feature supports up to 49 different scenarios.
Under the hood, the device has a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G processor and is powered by an 8,000mAh battery.
When it comes to charging, the Pova 8 5G has up to 45W fast charging, with Tecno claiming that it can achieve a 30% charge in just 19 minutes, and a 50% charge in 35 minutes.
There's also support for 10W wired reverse charging, meaning that the device can charge peripherals such as earbuds or even another smartphone.
It also comes with a suite of artificial intelligence (AI) features with Tecno AI, including an AI assistant that can perform web summaries, navigation, and answer questions. Tecno AI can even translate calls in real-time and automatically improve lighting in photos.
The Tecno Pova 8 5G comes in a single configuration, with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage priced at RM1,399. It comes in three colour options: Arc White, Graphite Black, and Helios Orange.
