Samsung has announced that it is rolling out One UI 8.5 to a selection of older smartphones and tablets alongside its current-generation flagships.
This includes the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Tab S11 series and Galaxy Tab S10 series.
A key feature of the update is support for AirDrop via Android Quick Share, allowing users to easily share files wirelessly with Apple devices such as iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
Other improvements include an upgraded Bixby voice assistant, which can now provide better solutions when a user asks questions or help tweak settings for those unfamiliar with their device.
This also means that instead of simply giving generic instructions, Bixby can immediately bring up the relevant setting to change based on the problem a user is facing.
Further improvements in One UI 8.5 allow users to view and use files from other Samsung devices, including PCs and TVs, directly within the My Files app on a Galaxy smartphone.
