Xiaomi packs new Note 15 series with enhanced battery life and durability; priced from RM799

KUALA LUMPUR: Xiaomi unveiled its latest Redmi Note 15 series today with four new smartphone models, including the Pro+ 15 5G with 6,500mAh battery capacity. 

The company in a presentation today (Jan 15) said it took note of customers' feedback to enhance the Note 15 series with improved battery performance for all-day use.

The company claimed that its Silicon-Carbon (SiC) battery is capable of delivering "flagship level endurance" with 100W fast charging – boasting that users can fully charge the device in 40 minutes – and 22.5W reverse charging, which lets the device act as portable power bank by powering up other gadgets through its charging port.

It also claimed that the Xiaomi Surge battery management system enables the Pro 15+ model to retain its battery health to up to 80% after 1,600 charge cycle or six years of regular use.

The Redmi 15 Pro+ has a 6.83in Amoled display with Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, up to 120Hz refresh rate and AI features such as AI Speech Recognition and Interpreter.

The company also showcased the 15 Pro 5G model with a 6.83in display, equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra processor and a bigger 6,580mAh battery.

Both models include a 200-megapixel main camera with 8-megapixel ultra wide camera.

The company said the Pro+ and Pro models feature a single lens that supports five focal lengths from 23mm to 92mm to enable various framing for landscapes, portraits and close-ups.

The Pro+ model has a 32-megapixel front camera while the Pro model is equipped with 20-megapixel. 

The Note 15 series also includes the Note 15 5G with 6.77in display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor and 5,520mAh battery capacity.

The company highlighted the model for its slim built at 7.35mm thick, weighing at 178g. 

Finally, the Note 15 is a 4G-only model which comes with a 6.77in display, MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra processor and 6,000mAh battery.

Both Note 15 models include a 108-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel ultra wide camera and 20-megapixel selfie camera.

All the models in the Note 15 series are also built with Redmi Titan Durability features promising reinforced drop resistance, enhanced water and dust resistance, including what the company is claiming as "ultra-tough" fiberglass back panel (Pro+ only) Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for display for both the Pro models.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G comes in three colour options namely Mocha Brown, Glacier Blue and Black, available at the promotional price of RM1,699 (NP: RM1,899) for the 12GB + 512GB variant. 

The Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G comes in Mist Purple, Glacier Blue, Titanium and Black, available for the promotional price of RM1,399 (NP: RM1,599) for the 12GB + 512GB variant.

The company said the 256GB variant will be available starting March 1 priced at RM1,699 for the Pro+ model and RM1,399 for the Pro model.

The Redmi Note 5G comes in Mist Purple, Glacier Blue and Black, and is priced at RM849 for the 6GB + 128GB variant and RM949 for the 8GB + 256GB variant.

The Redmi Note 15 comes in Glacier Blue, Purple, Forest Green and Black, priced at RM799 for the 8GB + 256GB variant as an online exclusive.

Pre-orders for the Pro models start on Jan 16 until Jan 21 with various freebies, while the Note models will be available for open sales from Jan 16 until Feb 28.
