PETALING JAYA: MyDigital ID will be the sole sign-in method for MyJPJ app users aged 18 and above starting Feb 1, 2026.

The Road Transport Department (RTD) announced yesterday (Nov 27) that MyDigital ID will replace the existing login method for Malaysian users aged 18 and above.

Users aged below 18 and MyPR card holders will still be able to log in through the existing method, using a special link that requires their 12-digit MyPR or MyKad number and password.

Unregistered MyJPJ app users can create a new account with a MyDigital ID.

The department said this step is essential to prevent fake accounts and ensure only verified users can access the MyJPJ system.

According to the statement from the RTD, 13 million users have registered on the MyJPJ app, with 1.3 million already signing in using MyDigital ID.

The remaining 11 million users are urged to complete a pre-registration process using facial recognition to expedite their MyDigital ID registration.

The department is also urging all other MyJPJ app users to register for MyDigital ID ahead of its enforcement as the sole sign-in method next year.

The RTD had originally announced MyDigital ID as the mandatory login method for the MyJPJ app in October 2024. Implementation was postponed after Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the ministry had yet to make a final decision.

MyDigital ID, developed by Mimos under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, is a national identification management system that authenticates users for online transactions and provides access to government services with a single ID.

Users can register for a MyDigital ID through its official website.
