PETALING JAYA: Maybank has issued a notice via its MAE app informing customers that certain features are temporarily unavailable. The bank has not provided a reason for the service disruption.

The notice states that users will still be able to view their "balances, perform transfers (self, others, & DuitNow), bill payments and Scan & Pay transactions to merchants", however, a temporary transaction limit may be applied during this period.

Upon checking by LifestyleTech, it appears that features affected by the disruption include Secure2u verification, transfers to credit cards and loan balances, credit card payments, and prepaid reloads, among others.

Some users on social media have also reported being unable to complete QR payments through the MAE app.

In response to customers on its X (formerly Twitter) page, the bank says that transactions can still be performed via the Maybank2u website using SMS TAC codes.

As of publication, Maybank has not provided any timeline estimates on when services within the MAE app will be fully restored.
