Samsung unveiled its latest lineup of foldable smartphones at yesterday's (July 9) Unpacked event, including the long-rumoured Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, a more budget-oriented version of the company's flip-style device.
The new addition to the company's foldable smartphone offerings features a largely similar aesthetic to prior Z Flip models, with a 6.7in Amoled main screen on the inside, along with a 3.4in cover screen like the last generation's Z Flip 6.
It also has a familiar dual-camera setup on the back, with a 50-megapixel wide-angle main shooter, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, while the front has a 10-megapixel selfie camera.
Powering the device is a 4,000mAh battery and an Exynos 2400 processor, with 8GB of RAM and a choice of either 128GB (RM3,999) or 256GB (RM4,299) of internal storage. The Z Flip 7 FE comes in Black or White colour options.
Samsung has made some pretty significant upgrades to screen sizes in this year’s foldable lineup refresh.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 now features a 6.9in Amoled sceren internal display, up from 6.7in with the previous model, while the external screen has grown from 3.4in to 4.1in, which is a pretty big screen real estate bump now that it goes from edge to edge.
Like the FE version, the Z Flip 7 has a dual-camera setup, with a 50-megapixel main wide camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide. There's also a 10-megapixel selfie shooter on the front.
Under the hood, it has a 4,300mAh battery, an Exynos 2500 processor, and 12GB RAM, along with either 256GB (RM4,999) or 512GB (RM5,599) internal storage. Colour options include Blue Shadow, Jet Black, and Coral Red, and Samsung's online store exclusive Mint.
The last of the smartphone giant's new foldable lineup is the Z Fold 7, now with an 8in internal display, up from 7.6in in the previous model. The outer display also received an upgrade, now measuring 6.5in from last gens 6.3in. Both screens are Amoled.
The device features a triple camera setup on the back, with a 200-megapixel main sensor with up to 2x optical zoom, a 10-megapixel telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide.
It also has a 4,400mAh battery, a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, and the option of 12GB RAM with either 256GB (RM7,799) or 512GB (RM8,399) internal storage, or the top of the line model with 16GB RAM and 1TB internal storage for RM9,899.
The Z Fold 7 comes in Jetblack, Silver Shadow, and Blue Shadow, with the extra option for Mint when purchase online.
Samsung's range of newly unveiled foldable smartphones will also be eligible for a double storage upgrade worth RM600 during the pre-order period, meaning that buyers effectively get a free storage bump.
Last but not least, the company also launched its Galaxy Watch 8 series (40mm priced from RM1,299; 44mm priced from RM1,399; Classic priced from RM1,799) and Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) priced from RM3,399.
According to Samsung, the new Galaxy Watch lineup features a sleeker and more comfortable designs along with support from Google Gemini via Wear OS 6.
It also offers sleep timing recommendations based on circadian rhythm measurements, along with an Antioxidant Index that a measures carotenoid levels to support healthier ageing. Additional features include a stress tracker, mindfulness or mood tracking, and an energy score.
