PETALING JAYA: Maxis announced a limited-time offer that permanently upgrades the data quota for select postpaid plans.

The offer upgrades Maxis Postpaid 79 to 300GB of 4G/5G data, while the Postpaid 109, 139, 169, and 199 plans will receive unlimited 4G/5G data.

The company stated that existing customers will have their data quota automatically upgraded between today (Oct 9) and Nov 5, with no action required on their part.

"You should receive the limited time quota upgrade latest by Nov 5, 2024," the company said in an FAQ.

The upgrade will be offered to new customers who sign up by Jan 16, 2025.

"All existing subscribers and those who sign up during the promotion period will enjoy the quotas offered for this promotion permanently," the company said.

Customers who sign up after the limited-time offer period will receive the default data quota for their respective plans.

For example, the default data quota for Maxis Postpaid 79 is 80GB for 4G/5G and another 80GB for only 5G. The Postpaid 109’s default data quota is 100GB (4G/5G) and 200GB (5G only).

The company claimed that it removed the "5G only" quota with the new offer to give subscribers more flexibility to use either 4G or 5G.

However, users with unlimited data will be subjected to the company's Fair Usage Policy. They will be notified via SMS or call when they breach the policy.

It said this offer is not available to Maxis Postpaid 98 users, recommending that they upgrade their plan during the limited-time offer.
