WhatsApp has rolled out four new text formatting options, allowing users to now include bullet lists, numbered lists, block quotes, and inline codes in their chats.

The new additions complement existing formatting options available on WhatsApp, namely, bold, italic, strikethrough, and monospacing.

As shown in the infographic below from WhatsApp, users can format their messages using shortcuts in the chatbox:

These shortcuts are also available to Channel administrators.

WhatsApp says the additional text formatting options will "help save time and help people communicate more effectively via their messages”.

The new formatting options are now available on Android, iOS, macOS, and WhatsApp Web, though strangely, the Windows desktop client has been left out for now.

WhatsApp hasn't given a timeframe as to when the Windows desktop client will receive the update.
