Hank Green, a popular YouTube personality, shared an update with fans on his recent cancer diagnosis.

The 43-year-old VidCon co-founder revealed that he’s “officially in complete remission” three months after announcing his Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer diagnosis.

Green broke the news following a treatment follow-up with his oncologist, writing on social media that chances of relapse are low “but still very present.”

“I have a scan in three months to make sure everything’s still good,” he wrote. “Then we keep a close eye on it for two years and then a medium eye on it for the rest of my life. They don’t call it ‘cure[d]’ until five years from today.”

Known for his educational videos, Green shares the popular vlogbrothers channel with his older brother, bestselling author John Green, known for beloved young adult novels like The Fault in Our Stars and Paper Towns.

In his May 19 YouTube video, Hank explained that the siblings didn’t have any concrete plans for the channel moving forward, saying they planned to “play it by ear.”

“We’ll figure it out as we go one day at a time,” he said. “And I continue to be extraordinarily grateful for so many of the things in my life, including this.” – New York Daily News
