KUALA LUMPUR: Oppo has unveiled their new Reno8 Z 5G smartphone which features a 6.43in Amoled display with a 60hz refresh rate, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor.

It comes equipped with three sensors on the back, a 64-megapixel main shooter, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, along with a 16-megapixel front selfie camera.

According to Oppo, the device retains its emphasis on photography, particularly in taking portraits, maintaining the Bokeh Flare Portrait feature present in previous Oppo devices that blurs the background while boosting the bokeh light spots to highlight the subject.

The Reno8 Z 5G's AI Portrait Retouching feature has also been optimised to intelligently touch up skin tone and makeup without looking artificial or brightening the image up excessively.

The smartphone will only be available in a single storage variant; with 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. The Reno8 Z 5G also comes with an SD card slot, which is becoming more of a rarity these days on smartphones, with users that need the extra storage having an option to add up to a 1TB SD card for more space.

On the battery front, the device is equipped with a 4,500mAh battery, which is capable of 33W Supervooc fast charging that the company claims can achieve a full charge in just 63 minutes.

Similar to the preceding Reno7 Z 5G, Oppo also claims the device has certification to play high definition video from both Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

The device will be available in two colour variants – Dawnlight Gold and Starlight Black – while featuring the company's Integrated Oppo Glow, a fingerprint resistant coating which also gives the device's backplate a shimmering appearance.

Like its predecessor, the Reno8 Z 5G has some aesthetic accents on the main shooters, with Dual Orbit Lights circling two of the back camera lenses, which is essentially RGB lighting along with a diffusion layer to make the light disperse more evenly.

The Reno8 Z 5G will be available starting from August 26 for RM1,799, with early buyers being entitled to free goodies worth up to RM997 – including a pair of TWS earbuds (worth RM109), and My Oppo member privilege rewards (RM888) – on a first come, first served basis.

Those who purchase the device at Oppo's Portrait Carnival at the Sunway Velocity Mall before Aug 31 will also be eligible for a free pair of TWS earbuds (worth RM109), hotel vouchers (RM250), and a powerbank (RM79).

Oppo also showed off their Enco Buds2, which like the Reno8 Z 5G will be available from Aug 26, which the company claims boasts a seven-hour battery life, with a total of 28 hours worth of charge stored in the charging case.

Other features of the Oppo Enco Buds2 include IP4X water resistance, fast charging, which the company claims allow for one hour worth of listening time with just 10 minutes of charge, Bluetooth 5.2 for low latency, and AI powered noise cancelling.

The Enco Buds2 comes in two colour options – Midnight and Moonlight – and is priced at RM129.

Both the Reno8 Z 5G and Enco Buds2 will be available at My Oppo Spaces, Oppo Brand Stores, Oppo Official Online Stores, Oppo Telco partners, Oppo ecommerce partners, and Oppo chain-store partners.
