LOS ANGELES: Tim Cook, CEO of Apple – the most valuable technology company in the world – had a compensation package worth US$98.7mil (RM414.83mil) last year, more than six times his haul in 2020, according to a regulatory filing.

Cook’s base salary for 2021 was US$3mil (RM12.60mil), unchanged from the two prior years. He received a cash bonus of US$12mil (RM50.43mil) for the year as well as stock options worth US$82.35mil (RM346.11mil), according to Apple’s proxy statement filed Thursday. In addition, Cook received US$1.39mil (RM5.84mil) in other compensation, including US$630,630 (RM2.65mil) in security expenses and US$712,488 (RM2.99mil) for his personal use of private aircraft as per the company’s policy citing “security and efficiency reasons” for Cook to travel via private planes.
