STATEN ISLAND: A new, affordable piece of technology introduced this year by Apple is being used by criminals in the US and Canada to track vehicles and people, according to multiple reports.

In some cases, car thieves are sticking the US$29 (priced at RM129 locally) AirTag devices to luxury vehicles in parking lots, then tracking the car to the owner's home, where they move in to steal it, authorities in Ontario, Canada reported in a recent blog post.
