A bug affecting Android phones that caused apps – including contact tracing service MySejahtera – to randomly crash has since been resolved.
MySejahtera tweeted that the issue had been fixed by Google and could be resolved by updating the Android WebView and Chrome browser apps.

It was reported yesterday that the issue was caused by the WebView app, which comes pre-installed on Android phones, and uses Chrome to enable other Android apps to display web content.
The bug caused other apps – including Gmail and GooglePay – to display pop-up notifications indicating they had stopped running.
Users on DownDetector, Twitter and Reddit lodged complaints on the issue, prompting Google to confirm it with several tech news sites.
Google Workspace Status Dashboard, which tracks issues affecting its services, noted that Gmail was affected for about seven hours on Tuesday, due to the bug.
Though it is recommended that users update to version 89.0.4389.105 of the Android WebView app, some users had earlier suggested uninstalling the app before the patch was made available.
