Facebook Messenger rebuilt into a faster, smaller app

Facebook is updating its Messenger app for iOS, making it a quarter of the size so that it's easier to download and faster to use. — Facebook

Facebook has overhauled its Messenger app for iPhone users, making it more responsive and compact, the company said in a blog post.

Messenger vice-president of engineering Raymond Endres said the new version of Messenger on iOS will be twice as fast and one-fourth its original size.
