Ethiopia’s digitisation drive attracts global tech giants

The two big names in the technology world, Twitter chief executive officer and co-founder Jack Dorsey and former Alibaba Group chairman Jack Ma, are in Ethiopia this week as Africa’s second most populous country’s aggressive digitisation drive to create jobs is attracting global interest.

The Twitter CEO is in the country meeting with the tech community while Ma, the Chinese billionaire, is visiting to sign an agreement establishing a new trade platform that would facilitate cross-border transactions and provide smart logistics for small and micro enterprises.
