Celcom is the latest telco to support the Apple Watch Series 5 with built-in cellular service. This means users will get to send and receive text messages, answer phone calls, receive notifications, and stream Apple Music and Apple Podcast on the go.
This works as long as you are also using Celcom on your iPhone, as connecting the Apple Watch to a cellular network requires that your smartphone also be connected to the same carrier.
According to the Apple Malaysia website, "if your current carrier does not support Apple Watch, cellular functionality won't work until support is provided".
All Apple Watch models also feature Bluetooth and WiFi support. It has the new Always-On Retina display that lets you see the time and your watch face, and Noise app alert to warn you that you're exposed to high decibel sound that could impact your hearing.
Apple Watch Series 5 requires an iPhone 6s or later with iOS 13 or later.
Customers will be able to pre-order Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS + Cellular) starting Dec 6 at Celcom bluecube stores and selected Celcom Certified Partners.
Celcom has yet to announce pricing plans and packages for its customers.
