WhatsApp says it has fixed a flaw that could allow hackers to remotely access victims’ phones by sending a malicious MP4-format video file.
The flaw, CVE-2019-11931, worked by having attackers send a “specially crafted MP4 file” to remotely execute malicious code on the victim’s device, which then allowed them to view messages or files on the phone.
