A haunted house attraction in the United States has come under scrutiny after users claimed that it's a "torture chamber in disguise". Users who started an online petition to shut down McKamey Manor alleged that it forces participants to "ingest pills" and "questionable items" as part of the experience.

The petition also claimed that Russ McKamey, who owns and runs McKamey Manor, "hires workers with violent histories" and "sex offenders" to engage with participants. Concerns were raised over participants who have to seek professional psychiatric help and medical care for injuries after attending McKamey Manor.
