If your Windows 10 computer is taking ages to complete tasks, it might just take a reboot to fix the problem. However, shutting down your computer is not the same as rebooting it.
That's because since Windows 8, shutting down your computer closes all programs but leaves the operating system in a sleep state. Windows 10 reboots itself only once a month, and that's on Patch Tuesday when Microsoft delivers software updates.
