The Huawei MateBook 13 boasts an 88% screen-to-body ratio with bezels that are only 4.4mm thick.

Huawei didn’t stop at launching its flagship smartphone range, the P30, as it also unveiled the MateBook 13 to round out its ecosystem.

The lightweight MateBook 13 features OneHop, a file sharing service that allows documents, images, videos and other files to be wirelessly transferred between an Android phone and Windows laptop.

“Notebooks are one of the primary screens that play a major role in our all-scenario strategy. Interconnection between smart devices and laptops is required to provide users with a truly seamless one-stop experience,” said Matthew Ng, Huawei Malaysia deputy country director.

The Huawei MateBook 13 boasts an 88% screen-to-body ratio with bezels that are only 4.4mm thick.

The company has opted for 3:2 aspect ratio rather than widescreen so it has more real estate vertically but expect to see black bars at the bottom and top when watching  videos on, say, YouTube.

The 13in touchscreen has a 2K resolution (2,160 x 1,440 pixels) and a maximum brightness of 300nits.

The laptop has two USB-C ports – one supports charging while the other supports DisplayPort – and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Its 42Wh battery allows the laptop to play 1080p videos for 10 hours. Charging it for 15 minutes will give you 2.5 hours of power.

The laptop measures 28.6 x 21.1 x 1.49cm and weighs 1.3kg.

The standard model, which costs RM3,999, has an Intel Core i5 processor, Intel UHD integrated GPU, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD (solid state drive).

The premium model, which costs RM4,399, has an Intel Core i7 processor, Nvidia GeForce MX150 discrete GPU, 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD.

Just like the P30 series, the laptop will only be available from April 6.
