Users of the Crying in Public website can mark where their experience happened on a map of New York City using corresponding emoji, for example, a pink heart for falling in love or a flame for a lost job.

New York is a city full of highs and lows, from unbelievable success to crushing heartache, and all of it is on display in public, whether it's a spat between lovers – or a good cry in the subway.
