OnePlus 3: The new Flagship Killer

Third time's a charm: The OnePlus 3 sports a redesigned smooth full-metal metal body.

When the first OnePlus flagship was introduced two years ago, it was dubbed the “flagship killer” because it featured top notch specs but was priced much cheaper than other high-end smartphones on the market.

Its successor last year – the OnePlus 2 – didn’t make headlines but the Chinese startup from Shenzhen is back in the game with the OnePlus 3.

This phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor and features a whopping 6GB RAM, making it one of the most powerful devices on the market.

The smartphone has been given a major facelift – it has a slick full metal body that’s slimmer and lighter than its predecessor.

Other notable features include a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and OIS (optical image stabilisation), 8-megapixel front-facing camera, 64GB internal storage and 3,000mAh battery.

However, unlike some flagship models (like the Samsung S7 Edge), it doesn’t have a 2K display. The 5.5in Amoled screen has a 1080p resolution.

The company has also included some features that were left out from the previous model, including NFC (near-field communication) and Dash Charge for fast charging (which it claims will power the phone to 60% in just 30 minutes).

The device is available in two colours – Graphite Grey and Gold – and retails for US$399 (RM1,600) online.

However, local fans will have to wait longer as the company has yet to announce when it will be available here.
