Users looking for a better display to complement their gaming rigs should check out Acer’s stunning monitors, the XR341CK and XB270HU.
The XR341CK is a curved 34in monitor with an ultra-wide 21:9 aspect ratio and resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 pixels, offering a more immersive viewing experience than a flat HD display.
One of the highlights is the Adaptive-Sync technology which allows the PC’s graphics chip to control the monitor’s refresh rate to eliminate screen tearing.
As it’s made for gaming, it has a fast response time of 4ms and contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 ratio. It also has two built-in 7-watt speakers with DTS Sound.
The monitor has a zero-frame design – the bezel is less than 1mm thick – making it ideal for multi-monitor set-up, as many units can be places next to each to form a bigger display.
The display is of the IPS (in-plane switching) variety which offers wide viewing angles. The XR341CK’s height can be adjusted by up to 130mm and tilted between -5° and 35° for the optimal viewing comfort.
It’s not just for gaming though, as it also has a picture-by-picture mode so you can view two sources at the same time. You could, for instance watch a movie while working on an e-mail.
It has plenty of ports – HDMI (2.0), MHL, DisplayPort, mini DisplayPort and DisplayPort out, and four USB 3.0.
The XB270HU, on the other hand, is the world’s first 27in monitor with Nvidia G-Sync, IPS and a staggering 144Hz refresh rate, the company claims. G-Sync is Nvidia’s take on eliminating screen tearing, minimising input lag and stutter.
It has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, 4ms response time and 1,000:1 native contrast ratio. It’s also an IPS panel with wide viewing angles.
The XB270HU has a DisplayPort and four USB 3.0 ports.
The XR341CK and XB270HU are priced at RM3,699 and RM2,599, respectively.
The Taiwanese company also announced that it will be introducing the Intel Core i3 and Core i5 processors as options for its Revo One mini PC. It came with Celeron processor when it launched two months ago.
The Revo One with the Core chips has a starting price of RM1,500 and is expected to be available in the middle of next month.
All prices are inclusive of GST.
