SORRY, COULD YOU SAY THAT AGAIN?: Digital systems cancel out noise without adding weight.

From Harman to Mitsubishi Electronics and Bose, companies are developing clever digital noise cancelling systems that will make your next car's cabin as quiet as a library by using algorithms and microphones rather than layers of heavy soundproofing material.

Mitsubishi Electronic unveiled a new digital Active Noise Control (ANC) system for making car cabins quieter. Called FlexConnectANC, it can even deaden less predictable aural disturbances as well as typical engine vibration and tire roar and will be available for other manufacturers to integrate into their upcoming vehicles.
