Microsoft has been eyeing the budget smartphone market and been releasing affordable Windows Phones devices and the latest is the Lumia 535.

The smartphone, which has a 5in screen with qHD (960 x 540 pixels) resolution, will go for RM429 when it’s released next week.

Although a budget smartphone, it has a few handy features such as dual Sim card slots for staying connected on two networks.

It also has twin 5-megapixel cameras for the front and rear, which makes it ideal for selfies or video chats on, say, Skype.

The Lumia 535 is powered by Windows Phone 8.1 with the Denim update, and runs on a 1.2GHz quad-core processor.

It has 8GB of internal memory for storing apps and games and buyers will also get 15GB of free online space on the company’s OneDrive Cloud storage.

As it comes pre-installed with the Microsoft Office suite, users will be able to edit and share Word, Excel and PowerPoint files.

The Lumia 535 will be available in a range of colours, including orange, white, cyan and black.

Early birds will get gifts worth RM99 which includes a 2,200 mAh powerbank, 16GB memory card and screen protector. The promotion ends on December or while stocks last.
