Most of us think of billboards as ugly, useless blights on the landscape, but in Peru’s capital of Lima, an advertising agency has come up with a unique idea that turns the billboard into a water capture and purification device.
The large billboard, designed in collaboration between advertising agency Mayo DraftFCB and Peru’s University of Engineering, is used to capture humidity present in the air, purify it and then channel the drinkable water to several tanks stored in the structure itself.
