KUALA LUMPUR: The recent three-day MOFEW 2011 (Malaysia’s Online Fashion Entrepreneurs’ Weekend) expo held in MidValley Megamall became the testbed for a QR code-based cashless shopping experiment by PayPal, the online payment giant.
The system works with Android and iOS devices with Internet connection — customers have to scan a QR code provided by the merchant to initiate the PayPal transfer option on their mobile device.
