HP offers SMBs ‘Just Right IT’

KUALA LUMPUR: Hewlett-Packard Malaysia has introduced its “Just Right IT” portfolio. It is aimed at making it simple for small and medium businesses (SMBs) to get the IT capabilities they need, at the right time and price.

The portfolio covers both hardware and software solutions, the vendor announced.

“SMBs are always looking to reduce cost, simplify operations and prepare for growth,” said Vincent Lee, country manager for industry standard servers and channel organisation for enterprise servers, storage and networking at HP.

“With the help of our partners, we are offering the broadest technology portfolio out there and the expertise to deliver the results that SMBS need,” he said.

The portfolio includes a new ProLiant MicroServer, a StorageWorks P4000 Virtual SAN Appliance for Hyper-V, and P2000 G3 Modular Smart Array.

There is also the HP Data Protector Express 5.0 security software, virtualisation solutions with partner Microsoft Corp, flexible mobile connectivity solutions such as the HP V-M200 802.11n Access Point, and HP 350x Series Internet Protocol telephony.

Lee said the ProLiant MicroServer leads the lineup of Just Right IT products. This low-noise, energy-efficient server combines affordability, performance and data protection capability for businesses that have up to 10 employees.

The solution will enable SMBs to more effectively centralise information and data access, so that the employees can more easily share and use the information, while management is assured that the customer and company data is always secure.

As for the StorageWorks solution, HP said it offers storage flexibility, with up to 10GbE (gigabit Ethernet)

iSCSI (Internet small computer system interface) connectivity which speeds up the server and storage connection bandwidth by 10x for better performance.

HP Data Protector Express 5.0, meanwhile, is coupled to a storage solution to better manage backup and recovery tasks.
