PETALING JAYA: Maybank has announced that iPhone users must update their devices to iOS 14 or later to continue using its MAE app.

The bank said this measure is part of its efforts to enhance the security of customers' online banking experience, urging users to update their operating systems before March 31 to continue accessing the MAE app.

In an FAQ, it said devices that don’t support iOS 14, which was introduced in 2020, can no longer use MAE after March 31. However, installing the MAE app on a new device will require users to reactivate Secure2u at a Maybank ATM, with a minimum 12-hour cooling period imposed.

Although users can log in to the Maybank2u website to access their accounts, they won’t be able to perform transactions without the MAE app to approve them via Secure2u.

Users can check their mobile device's operating system by accessing Settings and selecting About Device.
