Malaysia’s first iPhone-Windows sharing solution

The HONOR MagicBook Pro 14, equipped with HONOR Connect, makes cross-platform sharing easier than ever, offering seamless collaboration across devices and ecosystems.

IN this hyper-connected age, proprietary tech ecosystems have created invisible walls between devices, making simple actions like file sharing more complicated than they should be.

HONOR, known for its user-first innovation, aims to change that with the launch of HONOR Connect, a new feature designed to bridge the high walled gardens of insular ecosystems.

It is set to offer a seamless, cable‑free experience for effortless data exchange and collaboration across platforms.

These closed ecosystems were initially created to provide convenience through seamless integration and compatibility while also encouraging brand loyalty.

But this is also a double-edged sword, making it harder for users to break out of these closed systems, also known as a lock-in.

For instance, a user whose phone is part of one ecosystem may hesitate to buy a laptop from another brand due to barriers such as learning a new operating system (OS) and interface and managing separate sets of data across different devices.

While some users are content within one ecosystem, others prefer specific device features not available in their current setup, making cross-platform interoperability a growing need.

Over the years, users have turned to email, cloud drives or even messaging apps like Whatsapp, WeChat and Telegram for file sharing across platforms.

While helpful, these workarounds often require the same app on both devices and come with drawbacks: extra steps, slower transfer speeds, especially for large files and potential cloud storage subscription costs.

A smarter, simpler way to share

HONOR Connect addresses these pain points directly. It is a robust cross-platform file-sharing tool that enables wireless, direct data transfers between HONOR devices and third-party brands.

It supports two-way transfers of files, photos and videos, offering a level of convenience and compatibility that has been missing from multi-device workflows.

What sets it apart is its ability to bridge traditionally siloed systems. This breakthrough simplifies the digital experience for professionals and consumers who switch between devices throughout the day.

To use it, users simply need to download the HONOR Connect app. On the receiving end, a compatible HONOR device can use its built-in HONOR Share capability to establish a high-speed, bidirectional transfer link.

The tool currently supports various file types including documents, images, videos and more.

It is worth noting that while HONOR Connect functions as a standalone app for iOS and Android users, it requires at least one HONOR device to complete the transfer, as it is natively built into system software of supported devices.

Meaning users cannot transfer files directly between, for example, an iPhone and a non-HONOR Android phone using HONOR Connect alone.

The feature is currently available on the HONOR 400 series smartphones, HONOR Pad 10 tablet and the newly launched HONOR MagicBook Pro 14 – HONOR’s latest sleek, powerful laptop built for productivity and performance.
