THE HONOR Magic V2 is touted to be the lightest and thinnest inward-folding screen phone yet, weighing only 231g and just 9.9mm thick.
Released last month, HONOR’s latest addition can be comfortably held in the hand or snugly fit in a pocket when folded, bearing no noticeable difference from a regular smartphone.
Media Prima Audio chief executive officer Nazri Nolan shares his experience using HONOR’s latest model, highlighting its compact design.
He equates the phone’s thickness to a stack of three credit cards when folded.
“Even friends who saw it expressed disbelief that a foldable phone really is so light and thin,” he shared.
A durable hinge design
The durability of foldable phones has always been a concern for consumers.
However, after using the device for some time, Nazri was impressed at the durability of the Magic V2.
“Even though I had dropped the phone on the tar road, the HONOR Magic V2 was undamaged,” he attests to its robustness.
Its outer screen is made from Nano Crystal Glass, which is 10 times more durable than regular glass, making it resistant to damage from daily drops.
Additionally, the company incorporates titanium alloy and its proprietary HONOR Shield Steel in the hinge mechanism to ensure longevity, with it being 20% more durable than regular steel while also being 25% thinner.
The hinge boasts a lifespan of over 400,000 folds and is Societe Generale de Surveillance S.A.(SGS) certified. SGS is a globally recognised benchmark for product quality inspection, testing and certification.
Enhanced productivity and multitask potential
As a media professional, Nazri needs to stay updated with current events and hot topics.
He credits the split-screen function of the Magic V2 as a great help in his work.
When unfolded, users have a 7.9inch internal screen to work on, allowing them to engage multiple applications simultaneously on this generous screen.
One of the standout features he underscores is the split-screen functionality in his social media usage of X.
“The split-screen feature of the HONOR Magic V2 allows me to browse a news account’s homepage on one half of the screen, while having my ‘For You’ page on the other half,” he comments.
The two screens don’t interfere with one another and this eliminates repetitive actions, such as toggling back and forth between pages, streamlining workflow and boosting efficiency.
Additionally, he uses the split-screen function to view documents while video conferencing, further optimising his multitasking capabilities on this tablet-like viewing experience.
Premium features for a peak experience
The Magic V2 is suitable for different types of business users.
For example, entrepreneur and TV personality Marion Caunter likened it to a pocket-sized personal assistant, using it to reply to work emails and coordinate shoots, making managing her daily schedule easier.
Similarly, serial investor and entrepreneur, Chryseis Tan, finds that the phone plays an important role in helping her excel at work as well as family life.
For example, users can effortlessly capture stunning photos with the Magic V2’s triple camera setup comprising a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 20MP telephoto camera.
Moreover, the hovering feature can also be used as a tripod for taking photos. Simply place the foldable screen phone on a tabletop and easily take group photos without a stand.
HONOR Magic V2’s screen also has eye comfort features that will reduce glare when outdoors to enhance visibility of contents on the screen.
Additionally, the phone has 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and dynamic dimming screen capabilities that intelligently adjusts the display’s brightness, providing relief for eye fatigue from prolonged screen viewing.
The 5000mAh Silicon Carbon Battery in the HONOR Magic V2 allows users to enjoy whole day usage without battery concerns.
